Horizon Gymnastics Junior Olympic Program Overview

The Junior Olympic program was developed with the belief that all athletes, regardless of their potential, must have a solid foundation of basic skills in order to advance safely. The program allows the gymnast to advance at her own pace.

Horizon's Junior Olympic Program is divided into two major segments: Recreational and Competitive Instruction.

1.    Recreational Programs in Gymnastics, Trampoline & Tumbling and Acro Gymnastics are non-competitive and achievement-oriented program.

Horizon Gymnastics offers a specialized online skills tracking program as part of each students membership. This program keeps track of their progress and their personal path of learning in each level. Parents have access online 24 hours a day from anywhere to keep up with their child's learning. Coaches do regular skill evaluations in all classes and testing takes place every six weeks. Awards week then follows testing week, student are then awarded for their progress. This online skill tracking brings communication between the parent and coach and helps the student see their progress and what skills are in their level left to learn within their current level.

2.    Horizon's Competitive Teams follow the USA Gymnastics guidelines for the Junior Olympic Program Levels 1 through 10. These levels are progressive in nature, building upon the skills required at the previous level. Competitive opportunities are provided up to and including the USA Gymnastics and AAU State and Regional and National Championships.
